Twitter, Elon Musk cause massive layoffs on platform

New job requirements imposed by Twitter have led many of its employees to decide to leave their positions at the social networking site.. These measures were put in place by Elon Musk himself to try to implement his Twitter 2.0 concept.

At the end of October last year, the billionaire Elon Musk closed the purchase of Twitter for $44 billion.. With this purchase, Twitter became a private platform, run solely and exclusively by Elon Musk, who owns all of its shares. Since Musk acquired the platform, he has decided to make a number of changes to improve, in his view, the platform.. The Twitter team has since implemented these changes, but working conditions seem to be so extreme that many workers have resigned.

When Elon Musk took over Twitter, executive layoffs were the order of the day. Contractors working on the platform were fired with a single word, but now it seems that things have changed. Because of the extreme working conditions, the platform workers themselves are leaving.

Earlier this week, Musk sent an email to his employees outlining his vision for the new “Twitter 2.0.”. The e-mail explained that to achieve this goal would require “extended working hours” in an environment “high intensity y extreme hardness“.

To ensure that his employees understood these conditions, A form was enclosed with the mail that the worker had to sign to state that he agreed with the situation.. The deadline was 5 p.m. ET last Thursday. ET last Thursday, if they refused to do so, these workers would be fired and compensated with 3 months’ pay..

Not surprisingly, many Twitter team members have not tolerated the subhuman working conditions Musk requires of his employees. The deadline has already passed, many workers have decided to say goodbye to their jobs using the same platform.

In farewell, all workers of the social network who decided to leave their posts, use a distinctive farewell emoji. These profiles publicly acknowledge that they have not agreed to Musk’s terms and are therefore leaving their posts. Even as they leave the platform, most of the messages agree that during their time at Twitter, they loved doing their jobs.

One of the messages the most important one was from the user @satanjeevwho said the following:

“After 12 years, I have left Twitter. I have nothing but love for all my fellow tweeters, past and present. A thousand faces and a thousand scenes run through my mind right now: I love you Twitter and I will always bleed blue.“.

Due to the mass flight of Twitter employees, the social network’s offices are closing.. Musk also sent an email to his employees informing them of this decision, accompanied by a restriction of employee credentials until next Monday.. This restriction is believed to be in place to prevent employees leaving their positions from stealing sensitive information.
