LaLiga signs global licensing agreement with StadioPlus | Crypto Plaza

LaLiga and StadioPlustogether with Vegas City Limited, today announced the signing of a strategic licensing agreement for the implementation of a joint project on the Decentralization and metaverse. StadioPlus is the Spanish company that provides technology and consulting to the sports industry to connect it with the Web3 world, while Vegas City Limited is a company that specializes in creating metaverse and blockchain-based experiences.

Thus, with the goal of reaching new generations and increasing interaction with fans around the world, LaLiga signed a licensing agreement with StadioPlus for the use of LaLiga’s intellectual and industrial property rights and their exploitation in the Decentraland metaverse. Through this agreement, a number of LaLiga-themed lands will be exploited within the Vegas City district, which owns the areas of
Decentraland’s largest sports, gaming and entertainment areas.

Stephen Ibbotson, Head of Franchising and Licensing at LaLiga added, “It is essential that LaLiga continues to innovate to bring the best of the competition to our fans, both on and off the field. This licensing agreement will allow us to reach a new and relevant audience, Decentraland.

For its part. James Ashton, CEO of Vegas City Limited said, “We are excited to work with LaLiga, Stadioplus and Decentraland to develop a soccer project that will surprise and provide new experiences for our audiences. We are leveraging Decentraland’s capabilities to deliver valuable Web3-enabled content.”

Finally, Agus Ferreira, CEO of the Decentraland Foundation. commented, “Part of Decentraland’s vision is to enable and create experiences for all kinds of people.
