Elrond Network becomes MultiversX – Coins.co.uk

Elrond made a rebranding and becomes MultiverseX. The blockchain company is changing its name to better reflect its ambitions in the field of metaverse.

On Thursday, on the occasion of the Day X in Paris, Benjamin Mincu announced that Elrond became MultiverseX.

Today begins a new chapter. A bridge between worlds, at the intersection of worlds and across worlds. This is our new challenge. Our new vision. The Elrond Network is transforming and expanding into MultiverseX.” said the head and co-founder ofElrond.

The name change is intended to mark a shift in the company’s focus as it plans to develop a new “constellation” of products centered around metaverse with xFabric, xPortal or again xWorlds.

The rebranding is reminiscent of Facebook’s in the fall of 2021. Mark Zuckerberg’s company became Meta and announced that it was focusing on its metaverse project.

Founded in Sibiu, Romania, in 2018, Elrond launched a L1 blockchain focused on scalability and offering an ecosystem of applications. Its native token ELGD currently has a market capitalization of over $1.4 billion. In 2019, the startup raised $1.9 million in a funding round led by Binance Labs.
